How to stay true to your competition training
If you need some extra motivation to get out of bed for your early morning run, Women's Health magazine has come up with some great tips.
Have you been struggling to get yourself to the gym lately? If so, you aren't alone. Even some of the biggest names in bikini competitions will tell you that sometimes they simply aren't in the mood for a training session. However, body competitions are all about taking control of your physique and pushing past the limitations you've set for yourself, so overcoming this reluctance is key.
That being said, if you do need some extra motivation to get out of bed for your early morning run, Women's Health magazine has come up with some great tips to give your bikini competition workout a boost.
Make some concessions (even if you don't mean them)
Too overwhelmed at the thought of spending an hour or more at the gym? Strike a mental compromise by telling yourself that you'll only do 20 minutes of cardio instead of the usual 45, or offer some other concession just to get yourself out of the house. After all, the source notes that once you actually get your heart beat going, you will probably follow through with your full work out anyway.
Pick a competition training routine you actually enjoy
You may have wondered why there are so many different exercise routines out there that essentially accomplish the same thing. It's true that many variations on push ups, crunches and other workout staples can target different muscles, but they also give you the chance to choose the moves you actually like. If every aspect of your competition training regimen seems like a chore, then you're considerably less likely to follow through with your workout and ultimately see results when you put on your posing suit.
