Triangle Pushups - Shape magazine editor Karen Borsari showcased this exercise last year after an American Council on Exercise study found that it "registered the most muscle activity," compared to other exercises intended to strengthen this part of the arm. This move is all about the positioning of your arms during your pushup. Instead of placing your hands in line with your shoulders, the source notes that you should place your hands under your chest so that your middle fingers and thumbs form a triangle. Then, proceed as usual with your pushups.
Tricep Kickbacks - Borsari mentioned this popular move as one of the runners-up in the ACE study, and it was also featured by Fitsugar for its tricep-toning power. To perform this exercise, grab a dumbbell in each hand and bend forward slightly, keeping your back straight in the process. Bend both elbows and pull them back, raising them as high as you can behind you. Alternate straightening each arm by lowering the weight, then bring it back up to the bent position.
